GDI Progression Levels

Our system of teaching is broken down into six distinct progressions. These levels are similar to class courses; smaller bundles of skills broken into manageable steps. It is this system which has helped lay the foundation for GDI USA’s instructional success. By breaking the goaltending position down into a logical sequence of progressions, we able to provide a much greater and productive emphasis on skills. We focus on small groups of skills, taking greater care in their explanation, being more progressive in their delivery, and maximizing quality technical repetitions. The end result is a more significant development experience for the participating goaltender. GDI USA Progression Levels are not only based on age; but ability. Our coaches can best place our students before registration.

One-on-One Coaching

Our 7th annual event is best described as lessons in a camp format. We will continue our recent NCC structure to streamline the day and reduce your cost. Students will be in a group of 4. Three groups of 4 (12 goalies) will be together for one session Monday through Thursday. Then each group of 4 will have their own additional session Monday through Friday to work with just one coach each day. This will ensure a dedicated one-on-one coaching opportunity. Your individual session will be based on what you yourself want/need to focus on throughout the week.

Your work-out will be between ice times, then a yoga session at night Monday through Thursday to help you recover for the coming day. Fitness and yoga sessions include the full group of 12 to maximize the time allotted and create a competitive team environment.

We will touch on a minimal amount of topics such as advanced positioning and rebound control, bad angle attacks, puck handling, and traffic management in order to simplify our curriculum leaving room for more personal dissection, and drive home instinctual responses to the most challenging and threatening scenarios facing a goaltender today.

Ice times will begin with a skating focus before moving into our 4 drills. You and your dedicated coach will dive into what it takes to educate, develop, implement, and enhance the skill being addressed at each station. Building a personal relationship with the 4 coaches throughout the week thanks to more one-on-one time spent with them will maximize your involvement and results.

Exposure & Development

Our National Camps were launched in the summer of 2012 to offer our elite goaltenders an opportunity to be exposed to a second to none coaching staff that represent high level hockey programs at a world class University and Professional facilities.

Our mission is clear – bring together the best resources possible – to offer the best camp possible. It has long been GDI’s hallmark to develop new and improved programs and develop innovations within the position. These camps will enhance our student’s game through our staff’s vast knowledge and expertise. Unlike traditional goaltending camps, our curriculum is developed from many different approaches, philosophies, and styles.

Learn from a collection of ELITE Coaches and their unique approaches to the position. We look forward to partnering with you this summer as you work toward your developmental goals and career objectives.

Our National Camps are built on 3 primary purposes:

1. To enhance our students’ developmental approach.

2. To enhance our students’ career opportunities.

3. To progress the position of goaltending through synergy and exploration.
